Always exploring the work of the actor-creator, Dell’Arte has devised highly experimental touring pieces, as well as imaginative original family theatre and large-scale ‘theatre of place’ spectacles. Dell'Arte International School of Physical Theatre

(1:16) The Dell’Arte School is located in the town of Blue Lake, surrounded by the majestic wilderness of California’s North Coast. For nearly 50 years, Dell’Arte has welcomed students from all over the world to our home in this unique natural setting to train, research, and discover what is possible in the theatre.

I Am Theatre: Joan Schirle

(1:46) Joan Schirle is the Founding Artistic Director of Dell'Arte International (DAI), the North American center for performance, training, and research in the work of the physical actor/poet. Joan directed the Dell'Arte International School of Physical Theatre until 2011 and designed the curriculum for DAI's accredited MFA in Ensemble-Based Physical Theatre.
