How to Create a New NoodleTools Account

If you are logging in to West Sound Academy's NoodleTools subscription for the first time, you will need to create a new account.

Step 1:

Begin by entering NoodleTools via any of these three options:

Option 1: Google app launcher (not available for iPad/mobile users)

From your WSA email, open the Google app launcher (the menu with 9 squares, sometimes called the "waffle" menu) as pictured to the right and scroll down to the bottom, where you'll find 3rd-party apps.

Click the NoodleTools icon.

Option 2: Direct link

You can open NoodleTools from a customized link that matches West Sound Academy's Google domain:

Option 3: "Google" button on the NoodleTools sign in page

Click the "Google" button on the sign in page at:

https://my.noodletools.com/logon/signin

NOTE: Do NOT click the "Don't have an account? Register" box. That is for schools that are using Personal IDs and passwords for individual accounts. West Sound Academy is using Google SSO (Single Sign On) as the way for students and staff to access NoodleTools.

Step 2:

You may be prompted to select your Google account if you are not already logged in or if you are logged into multiple Google accounts.

The "Account Setup" window will open.

Creating a new account

Since you are a new user, leave the "Create account" tab selected (default). Choose "I am a student or library patron" (default) or "I am a teacher or librarian." Click Create Account.

Once you are logged in, the NoodleTools Projects screen will open and you're done! See Create a New Project.

Accessing the NoodleTools Companion app:

To access the NoodleTools Companion iOS/Android app, locate the "Companion Key" in your NoodleTools user profile and use that key as the password (and your Google email as the username).

NoodleTools Tutorials: Projects
When you are ready to begin research, create a NoodleTools project. Add collaborators if you’re working with a group. Share your project with your teacher’s assignment inbox to allow them to view and give feedback on your source citations, notecards, outline, and file attachments.

Generate accurate MLA, APA, or Chicago-style citations and format your in-text citations or footnotes. Use an ISBN number or DOI to import citation information for books, articles, and reports, or take advantage of our “Export to NoodleTools” database integrations to produce citations from their article metadata.

Make connections, develop original ideas and articulate arguments. Use our intuitive, visual “tabletop” to manipulate, tag and pile notecards, then connect them to topics in your outline to prepare for writing.
